چکیده

During service discovery, preserving privacy of end users and service providers is one of the challenging research issues in ubiquitous computing environment (UCE). To solve this issue, we define service group and classify it into two cases: public service and private service. End users’ privacy is important in public service group while privacy of end users and service providers are important in private service group. Based on this observation, we propose a lightweight, privacy preserving and secure service discovery protocol for UCE. Our protocol needs less computation overhead from the view of user while providing mutual authentication and entity anonymity. In addition, it provides accountability, improves non-linkability, enhances security level by sharing a selected number set, and does not rely on underlying system infrastructure. Differentiated service access control is also feasible by arranging users in different service groups. Since our proposed protocol is designed for providing security services in middleware, the protocol can be used to build a security framework adapting its security service to end users’ circumstances while preserving a certain security level.

A Lightweight Privacy Preserving Authentication and Access Control Scheme for Ubiquitous Computing Environment

In Ubiquitous Computing Environment (UCE), service provider wants to provide its service to only legitimate users. Some users who belong to same service provider do not want to reveal their identities while using some privacy-related services such as location information, printing, browsing web pages, etc. In addition, we should consider lightweight cryptographic protocols because UCE can be co...

A Privacy-Preserving Secure Service Discovery Protocol for Ubiquitous Computing Environments

Recently, numerous service discovery protocols have been introduced in the open literature. Unfortunately, many of them did not consider security issues, and for those that did, many security and privacy problems still remain. One important issue is to protect the privacy of a service provider while enabling an end-user to search an alternative service using multiple keywords. To deal with this...

A scalable and privacy-preserving child-care and safety service in a ubiquitous computing environment

Recently, the technologies for child care and safety have been developing rapidly, together with the various IT convergence services. In particular, several mobile operators (e.g., SKT, KTF, and LGT) in Korea and Gangnam province in Seoul provide their own child-care services. However, someproblems such as incorrect location information, privacy violation, and difficulty of an end-user to contr...

Game-Based Cryptanalysis of a Lightweight CRC-Based Authentication Protocol for EPC Tags

The term "Internet of Things (IoT)" expresses a huge network of smart and connected objects which can interact with other devices without our interposition. Radio frequency identification (RFID) is a great technology and an interesting candidate to provide communications for IoT networks, but numerous security and privacy issues need to be considered. In this paper, we analyze the security and ...
